CLEVELAND - With their first of two second round picks in this years NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Jabaal Sheard, a defensive end from the University of Pittsburgh.
Sheard was the Big East defensive player of the year in 2010 with 52 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks and four forced fumbles. Sheard finished third in the Big East in sacks in 2010.
Sheard is the second defensive selection for the Browns, who are switching to a 4-3 defense following the selection of Baylor defensive tackle Phil Taylor in the first round Thursday night.
The Browns have one more pick in the 2nd round, the 59th overall pick which was acquired from the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.
