Browns players team up to help build a playground at a Cleveland elementary school

CLEVELAND - Browns players are committed to getting off the field and out into the Northeast Ohio community to help with projects that can have an impact.

Tuesday, a group of players, staff members, community leaders and volunteers built a playground complete with slides, monkey bars and climbers at Buckeye-Woodland Elementary School on Buckeye Road in Cleveland.

The playground is also disability-friendly with steps and handholds. Beside the equipment, the playground will have hopscotch, four square and a basketball court.

The Browns are part of the PLAY 60 program, a program that encourages children to be active for at least 60 minutes each day.

Tuesday's effort was also part of Hometown Huddle, a nationwide day of service where NFL teams partner with the local United Ways to impact youth health and education.

Also participating were representatives from the United Way of Greater Cleveland, the Cleveland Clinic, and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
