After getting checked out at a Nashville hospital Sunday, Cleveland Browns defensive back Jordan Poyer was diagnosed with a lacerated kidney.

Poyer was taken to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital after being crushed on a block while chasing down Titans returner Marc Mariani when Antonio Andrews hit him, knocking Poyer to the ground with 6:33 left in the second quarter.

Andrews was flagged and penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct on the blindside hit.

The hit left Poyer bent over on the grass for a few minutes before he was able to walk to the Browns sideline. He was evaluated, then put on a cart and taken to the locker room.

The Browns said Sunday evening Poyer was in stable condition. He was expected to be kept overnight for observation.

Cleveland Browns players Terrelle Pryor and Christian Kirksey tweeted prayers for the injured player.

Poyer also sent a tweet around 5 p.m., thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
