The forward did not attend the Cavs' media day earlier in the week due to the state of contract talks.

James has been vocal about his desire to have Thompson back in Cleveland. The two share the same agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group.

On Sunday, James addressed the post saying, “The last thing you need is a distraction when you’re trying to make a championship run. And we have that right now and it’s unfortunate from both sides.”

“I know he wants to be here and I believe this franchise wants him to be here so hopefully something can get done soon,” James continued.

Thompson played in all 82 games last season, starting in 15 with an average of 8.5 points.
