CLEVELAND - Kyrie Irving will not be heading to Houston for NBA All-Star weekend alone.
The Cavaliers announced that Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller will head to Houston to participate in the BBVA Rising Stars game as a part of All-Star Weekend on February 15, 2013.
The game pits a selection of current NBA rookies against current second year NBA players. All three Cavaliers will then be drafted by either NBA great Charles Barkley or former Cavalier Shaquille O'Neal who will serve as general managers for the game.
Waiters, the fourth overall pick in last Junes NBA draft is currently second in the league in scoring among rookies at 14.5 points per game.
Thompson, the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft is averaging eleven points and nine rebounds in 46 games played this season.
Zeller, the 17th overall pick in last Junes draft is averaging eight points and six rebounds in 42 games played.
The BBVA Rising Stars game is the second event of NBA All-Star Weekend. The game tips off at nine o'clock on February 15, 2013. The game can been seen on TNT.
