A Cleveland Indians fan battling cancer got an invitation to the World Series from one of the star athletes himself Tuesday.
Ali Rieman, 19, was at University Hospitals and Rainbow Babies and Children's hospital for acute myeloid leukemia treatments when she met Amanda Kluber. The pitcher's wife bonded with Rieman over smoothies.
As their friendship blossomed, Rieman met Indians pitcher Corey Kluber and even was invited to attend another Indians game before she was asked to be their guest at the World Series.
"It's so crazy, I would never expect something like this to happen, I missed so much when I was in the hospital and just to be able to do something like this... Corey and his wife are so amazing."
