Indians beat Cincinnati for 1st Cactus League of 2014

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The visiting Cleveland Indians picked up their first win of the 2014 Cactus League season 12-3 over the Cincinnati Reds Thursday afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark.

Justin Masterson, who is expected to be the opening day starting pitcher on March 31st in Oakland, made the start and pitch a scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts.

Corey Kluber pitched the second inning and allowed two earned runs on two hits. Carlos Carrasco was impressive going two scoreless innings with a pair of strike outs and earned the victory.

David Aardsma, Blake Wood and Josh Outman also pitched scoreless innings.

The Indians blasted three home runs including a grand slam by Jake Lowery to cap off a five run fifth inning.

The Indians and Reds will meet again Friday afternoon at 3:05PM Cleveland time. The Indians will be the home team.
