BALTIMORE - The Cleveland Indians continue to get their injured players back. For the second day in a row, the tribe has activated a key player off the disabled list. Wednesday it was shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, today it was closer Chris Perez.
Perez has been on the disabled list since May 27th with a right rotator cuff strain. Perez suffered the injury on May 26th in Boston against the Red Sox. Perez will resume in the closers roll.
To activate Perez, the tribe optioned relief pitcher T.J. House down to triple A Columbus.
Also the Indians traded infielder John McDonald to the Philadelphia Phillies for either a player to be named later or cash considerations. McDonald was designated for assignment on Wednesday when Asdrubal Cabrera was activated from the disable list.
