Fans, Indians slugger Nick Swisher elect Twinsburg native Adam Gockowski as new governor of 'Brohio'

CLEVELAND - The people of Progressive Field's Section 117 have a new leader: Adam Gockowski, a Twinsburg native who becomes the Cleveland Indians' first full-time Governor of "Brohio."

Gockowski, who works in Lakewood, is responsible for riling up the fans in the Nick Swisher-inspired section that went viral last summer.

He submitted a video to a competition that started in January and, after becoming one of four finalists, he was ultimately picked to serve by a fan vote and by the slugger himself.

Twinsburg native wins vote of fans, Nick Swisher to become first full-time Governor; will lead Section 117 at all Friday, Saturday Tribe home games

Cleveland, OH-The fans - and Nick Swisher - have spoken, and have elected Adam Gockowski as the first full-time Governor of Brohio, in Section 117 at Progressive Field.

Gockowski, a Twinsburg native and video engineer at a Lakewood company, now will preside over the excitable Section 117 -- the Nick Swisher-spawned section of Progressive Field that also went viral on social media throughout the summer of 2013 - for all Friday and Saturday games during the 2014 season.

Fans originally submitted videos to be considered for one of four finalist spots, and those finalists - Gockowski, Ben Henceroth, Greg Niemojewski and Eric Pratt -- then campaigned in front of Swisher himself on the KeyBank main stage in January at Tribe Fest, held at the ballpark.
