Pregame festivities announced for World Series Game 7

The final activities for the 2016 World Series matchup between the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs were announced Wednesday by Major League Baseball, with coverage of the ceremonial activities starting at 7:30 p.m.

The events are as follows: 

  • Five-time MLB All-Star Jim Thome will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
  • The Progressive Field crowd will have the opportunity to sing along as members of the String Section of the Cleveland Orchestra will conduct an instrumental performance of the U.S. National Anthem.
  • Lancaster, Ohio, native and United States Marine Corps First Lieutenant will sing "God Bless America" at Progressive field.
  • The game ball will be delivered to the mound by Davontre Cohen, 17, from the Boys & Girls Clubs of The Western Reserve in Akron.
