Retractable Dome Would Cost $90M

Talk Continues To Swirl

POSTED: 7:23 am EDT April 27, 2006

There continues to be talk of a retractable dome on the Cleveland Browns Stadium.

NewsChannel5 reported a few months ago, there was talk of a retractable dome when a well-known local architect approached Cleveland Councilman Mike Polensek about his idea.

City officials would like to have the dome in time to make a bid to host Superbowl L (50), WEWS reported.

It will take about $90 million and local developer Bob Corna supports the project.

Polensek also backs a plan to extend the existing sin tax and securing other financial backing to pay for the dome.
