Judge Throws Out Sobriety Tests In Droughns DUI CaseUPDATED: 6:10 am EST March 22,
2006 MEDINA, Ohio -- A Cleveland Browns running back may have an edge in the courtroom as he faces drunken driving charges, NewsChannel5 reported. Reuben Droughns was pulled over in October in Medina County following a Halloween party. Now, Medina Municipal Judge Dale Chase barred the use of two of the field-sobriety tests conducted on Droughns, saying neither was in compliance with national standards. But the prosecution still can use a breath test and one-legged stand test done when Droughns was arrested in Brunswick Police said a breath test showed Droughns' blood-alcohol content was .08 -- the level of impairment in Ohio.Droughns has pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence, failing the Breathalyzer test and traveling 50 mph in a 35-mph zone. His trial is set for May 9. Previous Stories:
