AKRON, Ohio -- The mother of Cleveland Cavaliers star player LeBron James is set to appear in Akron Municipal Court Monday.

Gloria James, 37, of Green, was arrested Friday night on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and other charges.

Police said James was weaving in and out of traffic when they pulled her over just before midnight.

"She opened the door to step out and the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol. She appeared to be disoriented. She had glassy eyes," Akron police Lt. Rick Edwards said.

Police Release Recording Of James Arrest

Police released a recording of the police radio call when James was arrested. She can be heard yelling in the background.

Police said she struggled with officers who attempted to put handcuffs on her and yelled obscenities.

Once in the cruiser, police said she started to kick out the driver's side window until it came out of its frame.

She is free on $2,500 bond.
