Winslow To Plead No Contest In Motorcycle WreckNext Court Date Not SetPOSTED: 2:53 pm EDT July 13,
2005 CLEVELAND -- The lawyer for Kellen Winslow Jr. said the Cleveland Browns tight end will enter a no contest plea to a minor misdemeanor charge for failing to control his motorcycle, NewsChannel5 Sports Director Chris Miller reported. Winslow will miss the season after wrecking his high-powered motorcycle in a parking lot in May and injuring his right knee. His lawyer, Fred Nance, told The Plain Dealer that the prosecutor has agreed to the plea. Winslow was originally accused of willful and wanton disregard for safety, also a misdemeanor. The reduced charge still carries a fine of up to $150, but would mean two points on his driver's license instead of four. Winslow's next court date has not been set. Copyright 2005 by NewsNet5.
