Kellen Winslow Breaks Silence Following Accident

Tight End Speaks To Houston Reporter

UPDATED: 1:06 pm EDT July 13, 2005

Nearly two and a half months after he crashed his motorcycle and suffered season-ending injuries, Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. has finally broken his silence.

Winslow
NewsChannel5 sports director Chris Miller reported that Winslow is emotionally down, but not out, following a motorcycle mishap on May 1.

The crash ended his sophomore season before it even started.

He spoke out for the first time Friday to a Houston reporter.

Winslow was in Houston rehabbing his right knee, which he had surgery on three weeks ago.

Now he's undergoing an aggressive procedure to help stimulate the ligaments in the knee.

Winslow addressed the accident and the subsequent rehab process.

Winslow is now back in Cleveland. He told Miller Tuesday that while the rehab process is difficult, he understands this latest setback will only help in the maturing process.
