Winslow Releases Statement, Apologizes For Actions

CLEVELAND -- In a statement released Thursday, Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. expressed his gratitude for all the support he received following his motorcycle accident, and also apologized for his actions.
After thanking the Browns organization, the medical staff that helped in his treatment, and the fans, he went on to "humbly apologize" for his decision to attempt to learn to ride a motorcycle, "without a professional instructor in a controlled environment."Although there have been reports that Winslow would be out the entire season, he confirmed it for the first time in the statement.He went on to say that although many are disappointed he will not be playing this season, that "no one is more disappointed in this fact than me."

He hit the curb doing 35 mph.He was hospitalized for over a week with internal injuries and injuries to his right leg and knee.Winslow was out for most of last season after injuring his right leg. He underwent two surgeries for those injuries.Westlake police also said that Winslow will be charged with a misdemeanor for the crash, which carries a maximum fine of $150.
