Giants Could Consider Bringing Burress Back

Plaxico Burress Was Suspended In November

Plaxico Burress' days with the New York Giants might not yet be over.

The Newark Star-Ledger reported that the team would consider brining the wide receiver back next season.

"If everything goes all right, yeah," Giants General Manager Jerry Reese said, according to the Star-Ledger, when asked if Burress could return next season. "Absolutely."

Burress was suspended after he allegedly accidentally shot himself in the leg at a nightclub. He faces two felony gun charges.

The Giants' season came to an end Sunday with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional playoffs. Reese said the team missed the wide receiver's contributions during the postseason outing.

"Obviously, it's hard to replace that," Reese told the Star-Ledger. "The guy has a presence out there and when you lose that, teams play you differently. We made some adjustments, but today we had opportunities. We just didn't make enough plays."

Burress ended the season with 35 receptions, 454 yards and four touchdowns.
