Oilers' Pisani Leaves Game Vs. Detroit

POSTED: 11:02 pm EST November 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - Edmonton Oilers forward Fernando Pisani was helped off the ice by a couple teammates after leaving Monday's 4-0 loss against Detroit with broken left ankle.

Pisani was battling Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom for a loose puck and fell and slammed his ankle awkwardly into the boards early in the third period. He was unable to walk off the ice under his own power.

The 31-year-old Pisani has two goals and six points in 15 games thus far for the Oilers.
