NCAA Game Summary - Kent State At Bowling Green

POSTED: 7:01 pm EDT November 1, 2008

(Sports Network) - Tyler Sheehan passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third as he led the Bowling Green Falcons to a 45-30 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes in Mid-American Conference play at Perry Stadium.

Sheehan finished the day with 109 yards rushing on 14 carries for BGSU (4-5, 2-3 MAC) and converted 16-of-23 passing for 159 yards, but was also picked off twice as the team snapped a two-game slide.

The Golden Flashes (2-7, 1-4), losers of five of their last six outings, were paced by Julian Edelman who like Sheehan not only led the team in passing (16- of-32 for 219 yards, two TDs) but also posted a game-high 170 yards and two scores on 23 carries in the setback.

Bowling Green ran out to a 28-0 advantage in the first half, beginning with an 11-yard touchdown run by Anthony Turner in the opening frame. Corey Partridge reeled in a one-yard TD pass from Sheehan and Jimmy Scheidler captured a 21- yard TD pass in the second quarter as well. Making the score 28-0 with under a minute remaining in the first half was Sheehan who took the ball into the end zone himself on a 16-yard run.

The Golden Flashes finally got on the scoreboard in the third frame when Sam Kirkland and Edelman combined on an 18-yard scoring strike to make the score 28-7.

A 42-yard field goal by Sinisa Vrvilo accounted for the only Falcons points in the third, while Edelman closed the gap for KSU with a three-yard TD run near the end of the period.

In the fourth quarter both teams registered two touchdowns as Andrew Beam and Jason Rice logged rushing scores of seven and 33 yards, respectively, for the Flacons, while Edelman tallied a six-yard TD run and hit Leneric Muldrow with a 15-yard score with less than three minutes remaining in the 15-point decision.
