2008 Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown will attempt to win Saturday's Preakness Stakes -- the second leg of this year's Triple Crown -- from the middle of the pack in the No. 7 position.Eleven winners of the Preakness Stakes have started from the No. 7 gate.Big Brown, who is trying to become the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Triple Crown, is the early 1-2 favorite entering Saturday's race. He won the Kentucky Derby -- which was tainted by the post-race euthanization of Eight Belles -- by a decisive margin after starting the race from the far outside in the No. 20 gate.The 3-year-old colt will be tested by the likes of Gayego, the only horse other than Big Brown in the Preakness field that also raced in the Kentucky Derby, and Kentucky Bear, who was the first horse to arrive at Pimlico in preparation for Saturday's race. Gayego will start the Preakness from the No. 12 spot, while Kentucky Bear will open the race next to Big Brown at the No. 8 spot.Big Brown will also face trainer Todd Pletcher's Behindatthebar, who will start from the No. 5 post, and Nick Zito's Stevil, who will start from the No. 9 spot.Preakness Stakes Post Positions 1.
