Police Say Gun Used In Shooting Was Owned By WR

Marvin Harrison told the Indianapolis Colts he was not involved in an April 29 shooting in Philadelphia, the Indianapolis Star reported.

According to the newspaper, Harrison told head coach Tony Dungy and team president Bill Polian that he was not involved in a shooting that resulted in a man being shot in his hand and a 2-year-old boy suffering a cut below his eye when a bullet shattered a car's windshield.

Philadelphia police have confirmed that a gun owned by Harrison was used in the shooting, the Indianapolis Star reported. Harrison was interviewed by police after the incident, but was not named a suspect.

The newspaper reported that the receiver was cooperating fully with the police.

"At this point I'm keeping my fingers crossed," Colts owner Isray told the Indianapolis Star. "We've done everything we could do in our diligence to try to discern what happened. He said he was not involved in that shooting and ... the authorities have said there is nothing imminent.

"You hope these things hold up to be true, that there won't be any charges and there wasn't any involvement. Until we hear more, this isn't even a case of innocent until proven guilty because there hasn't been a charge yet."

The Colts are scheduled to open minicamp Friday. Isray told the newspaper he wasn't sure if Harrison would be attending the camp, as he was still recovering from a knee injury he suffered last season.
