Newschannel 5 Takes A Look At Exotic Treatments Inside Area Spas

There's plenty of clinical evidence that shows removing stress from our lives can help us live longer, and northeast Ohio offers plenty of places to do just that.

Newschannel5 Health Team reporter Alicia Booth got to see some of the most exotic and luxurious treatments.

First, at Francesco's Salon and Spa in Mentor, for $110, you'll be pampered with a non-alcoholic champagne foot soak before heading in to the signature caviar facial.

Francesco's aesthetician Betsy Goodrum said, "The biggest thing about the caviar is that it really works if you're someone, maybe 40s on up, and you want to see a dramatic difference in your skin, the caviar and the pearl extracts will give you the results you'd like to see."

Each treatment room at Francesco's also has its own private showers. The spa also offers a eucalyptus steam shower.

At Spa West in Westlake you'll be showered with the star treatment. Spa West Director Nicole Ponte said, "We actually have trainers come in from England every three months to make sure that we're doing excellent service."

For an additional $200 a limousine will pick you up and drop you off wherever you want. It's a service known to be used by big-wigs staying in downtown hotels. You'll find fresh cut roses flown in from Ecuador all over the spa and even floating in the hydrotherapy bath.

But the biggest draw at Spa West is the espa holistic back, face and scalp massage with hot stones. The two-hour service is yours for $160.

If you're looking for more of a luxurious retreat, the Spa at Glenmoor in Canton is the place for you.

Set in the heart of the stately Glenmoor Country Club, you can stay a few hours or a few days. Many of the guest rooms include a view of the Jack Nicklaus signature course, where golfers can get in a round in warmer days.

You can even get in a little cardio and a weight-lifting session at the club's fitness rooms. But all you have to do is lie there for the spa's most unique offering: The Mediterranean anti-aging facial, which includes a hair and scalp treatment. The imported olive oil treatment lasts 90-luxurious minutes and includes a shampoo for $120.

That's a look at the specific services we think set these spas apart from the others, but all three offer a wide variety of ways to relax and rejuvenate.
