Stress is something that most people experience, but by inducing relaxation, people can reduce the effects of stress in their daily lives.

"Aromatherapy is the use of the essential oils from plants and flowers to help enhance your mind, spirit and well-being," said Stacy Abplanalp, manager of The Body Shop.

Candles and oils can also nurture your body and delight your senses.

When you get stressed out, how do you calm yourself down?

"A lot of the essential oils -- there are different types you can get, like lavender, bergamot, peppermint, lemon and orange," Abplanalp said. "All of those you can do a combination in the burners."

The oils can also help turn a home into a makeshift spa.

"Put a few drops into a bowl of steaming water to use as a facial -- that will help relief stress," Abplanalp said. "The essential oils can also be used in your bath, which is really good. They work well in a shower. If you put a few drops in the shower, they can make a steam bath kind of effect."

Using essential oils can also help put you to sleep. Combine two drops of chamomile, two drops of lavender and two drops of bergamot. Put it in a humidifier or a spray bottle with water and enjoy.
