Vegas Q&A: What To Do With Grandparents

Question: My husband and I will be meeting my grandparents, age 80, in Las Vegas. They consider us their tour guides and we don't want to disappoint them. Where are some must-see and must-eat locations? This will probably be their last trip to Vegas, and I want it to be memorable. Also I'd like to pick them up at the airport in a limo. How can I arrange this?

Staci in Conroe, Texas

Ask Rick Answer: Hi, Staci. Thank you for your question.

You obviously know your grandparents better than I do in terms of what they might enjoy, so after you read this, your first stop should be in the attractions section of Vegas4Visitors.com. Go through it and see if there's something around town that you think they'd enjoy more than what I recommend here.

If they haven't been to Vegas in awhile, you have to take them to the newer hotels and just let them gawk. Since mobility might be an issue, I'd say concentrate on the center Strip, with Bellagio, Paris, Aladdin, and Venetian.

Must-see attractions include the pirate battle at Treasure Island, the fountain shows at Bellagio, and a trip up the Eiffel Tower at Paris.

I'd also highly recommend taking them to one of the big production shows -- maybe Siegfried and Roy or even old reliable, Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, who performs regularly at Stardust.

Restaurants are a little more difficult. It depends upon what they like and if they have any dietary restrictions. Go through the dining section on Vegas4Visitors and you can browse by cost, location and type of food. We have only included restaurants that we recommend for one reason or another, so if you choose from that list you should be in for a treat.

Regarding limos, there are lots of companies in town, but the most reputable are Ambassador Limousine, (888) 519-5466, and Executive, (866) 367-7774.

Have a great time.
