NEW YORK -- Darva Conger was not attracted to her bridegroom on "Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire," but he was attracted to her.

Rick Rockwell, the millionaire, appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" to respond to comments made by Conger during an exclusive interview Wednesday.

Rockwell

"I thought there was a chance," he said. "I really like Darva, she's a great person. I would have been happy to develop a friendship with her and see where it went. Chemistry is an elusive thing."

Although many believe Rockwell was trying to give his comedy career a jump start, Rockwell said that his intention was to find romance.

"I went into this as a romantic," he said. "This, to me, was a romantic journey. People shouldn't feel duped."

Conger told ABC that she did not appreciate being kissed after he proposed to her.

"I was just estatic and caught up in the moment. I wanted to embrace her," he said.

As for sex on the Barbados honeymoon, he said that they were both on the same page.

Rockwell And Conger

Rockwell told ABC that the restraining order is old news, and he didn't offer any details about vandalizing an ex-girlfriend's car or slapping her.

"It's ancient history, we both wish each other well and it's over," Rockwell said.

He added that he knows that he has become the target of many comedians, but he takes it with a grain of salt.

Rockwell didn't mention anything about an annulment, but he said, "Sometimes things don't work out the way we want them to. You just learn from it and keep plugging."

Conger told ABC that he introduced her as his wife during the honeymoon and it grossed her out.

"It was like fingernails on the blackboard," she said.

You can catch more of the exclusive interview with Conger on ABC's 20/20 at 10 p.m. Thursday.
