Local Company Donates Material To Clean Up After Floods

SporiClean Donates To Iowa Flood Victims

Floodwaters leave behind grime and chemical residue that form a nasty mold that's difficult to clean.

Nick Martello, the owner of a Cleveland-based cleaning company called SporiClean, said the environment has a natural solution for this. He said he has bottled it and now he's giving it to Iowa flood victims for free.

"They need it. They lost everything," said Martello. "It's one thing to have localized flood in your house. But to have it completely submerged in water, it's all of your personal belongings and your livelihood. Your life is altered from that point."

The solution reduces the bacteria levels, he said.

SporiClean donated $5,000 in product and equipment to help flood victims start the cleanup process.

Martello said it will not be easy, but he said he's glad Cleveland can lend a helping hand.
