CLEVELAND -- Five days after the primary election, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections released unofficial final numbers from Tuesday's election. After counting thousands of absentee ballots by hand, the board of elections ended a week of confusion and complaints that included missing memory cards for voting machines, scanning machines that would not work and election workers unsure of what they were doing, NewsChannel5 reported. Worker spend the weekend compiling the numbers and they finished at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. "It's been one of the manual counts where you never want to go through it again," Vu said. But he added he expects the votes will have to be hand counted again for the official results. It was a long wait for State Representative candidates for District 14 Mike Foley and Bill Ritter. They didn't know until Sunday night who had won the race because it was so close. Ritter won the election by about 120 votes. "I feel bad for the voters. There's a lot of disenfranchised voters and I hope they don't lose confidence in the system because this is a one-time event," said Bill Rittter. For absentee ballot results, click here.
