CLEVELAND -- Two county commissioners in Cleveland want a colleague to abstain from voting on public contracts pending the outcome of a public corruption investigation. The overture came Tuesday from Cuyahoga County Commissioners Tim Hagan and Peter Lawson Jones, who said Tuesday that they want to restore public confidence in the county government. But fellow Democratic Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, a target of a federal investigation, said he won't sit out votes because that would look like an admission of guilt. Dimora, the county Democratic chairman, hasn't been charged and denies wrongdoing. Last week four men with ties to county government were charged in a widening, yearlong FBI investigation.
