History will also be made today with congressional races.

The Democrats could gain control of the White House, and increase the party's hold on Congress.

The 10th Congressional District race is between incumbent U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

The Democrat ran for president early on, and then dropped out of the presidential race, to focus on his re-election bid.

Kucinich is up against Jim Trakas.

The Republican was as an independent city councilman.

Trakas served four terms as a state representative.

He was Republican Party chairman of Cuyahoga County.

11th Congressional District

In the 11th Congressional District, Marcia Fudge is the Democrat running against Republican Thomas Pekarek.

This is for the next congressional term.

There will be a special election on Nov. 18 to decide if Fudge will serve out the remainder of the late Stephanie Tubbs Jones term for this year.

13th Congressional District

In the 13th district race, for Lorain, Medina and Summit counties, the Democrat is incumbent Betty Sutton. The Republican challenger is David Potter. Potter is a Strongsville businessman.

14th Congressional Race

The 14th district covers parts of Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Portage, Summit and Trumbull counties.

Incumbent Republican Steven Latourette is challenged by Democrat William O'Neill.

O'Neill served as an appellate judge on the 11th district court of appeals from 1997 to 2007.

He retired from the Ohio National Guard as lieutenant commander in 2001.
