Palin, McCain Hold Rally In Green

The Republican ticket is scheduled for a daylong sprint through Ohio, where polls show the presidential race is still close.

Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin will be in the city of Green in Summit County Wednesday afternoon.

A huge rally called "The Road to Victory" will be held at the Green High School football stadium.

Some students at the school will get a firsthand look at presidential politics and campaigning.

The school's principal said students will get the opportunity to attend the rally.

"We said we didn't want to interrupt our day. We wanted business as usual and end at our normal time and any kids who want to go to rally like the public itself, can go on their own to the rally. We're not going to end our day based on that," said Principal Joe Nicklos.

The rally starts at 3:30 p.m. at Green Memorial Stadium. It will be streamed live on newsnet5.com.

McCain and Palin are scheduled to arrive on their planes between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama had planned to return to Ohio on Friday but is instead going to Hawaii to see his ailing grandmother. His wife, Michelle, will take his place at rallies in Akron and Columbus.
