CLEVELAND -- A poll worker was caught on camera sleeping on the job, NewsChannel5 reported. The worker had been up since 4 a.m. Tuesday. So what are voters seeing at the polls? Many are videotaping their experiences. Voters are armed with video cameras as volunteers showed up at polling places across Cuyahoga County. They are part of Video the Vote. At Gracemont Elementary, they found a problem. Cleveland voter Michelle Holmes said lawyers from Election Protection, a national voters' rights advocacy group, helped resolve her problem when poll workers questioned a driver's license that didn't match her home address. Video the Vote got it on tape. "My name is Michelle Holmes, and I went in there to vote and they told me I couldn't vote," Holmes said. That's because she moved and her license had not been updated. "This is very important and I really appreciated them. They really helped me out," she said. According to NewsChannel5, the group said it has 1,800 volunteers at precincts across the country, documenting possible election violations. Holmes' tape and others were loaded onto a computer and instantly appeared on a Web site along with scores of others from all over the country. Organizers said it will add more transparency and oversight to the nation's election process. By midafternoon, the group had documented everything from polling places that opened late to one that was closed with no signs to direct voters to the new polling place. "There has been a lot of problems. Not certain how it's going to affect the day. As I said, I know we have been addressing them as quickly as possible," said Devin Domond with Election Proteciton. Besides Cleveland, cameras were in Columbus and Cincinnati Tuesday. You can see more of the Election Day video problems at VideotheVote.org
