Kokinis Out As Browns GM

POSTED: 1:44 am EST November 3, 2009

(Sports Network) - George Kokinis is out as general manager of the Cleveland Browns.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that Kokinis, who was in his first year as the Browns GM, was escorted out of the Browns facility in Berea by security Monday. However, the Browns organization denied those reports in a statement Monday night, saying "Kokinis is no longer actively involved with the organization."

Cleveland has struggled to a 1-7 start this season under new head coach Eric Mangini. The Browns, who are coming off a 30-6 loss to the Bears on Sunday, have a bye this upcoming weekend.

Before coming to the Browns this season, Kokinis served as director of pro personnel for the Baltimore Ravens for five years.
