Panthers Re-Sign CB Deloatch

POSTED: 1:25 am EDT May 28, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Carolina Panthers have re-signed cornerback Curtis Deloatch, the team announced on Tuesday.

Deloatch played in six games with the Panthers in 2007, serving primarily as a reserve and special teams player before tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Indianapolis on October 28 and being placed on injured reserve.

The 26-year-old has played in 45 games -- 13 starts -- over four seasons with the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints and Carolina, recording 81 tackles and one interception. After signing with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina A&T, Deloatch started 13 games for New York in 2005 before serving primarily on special teams each of the last two seasons.
