Indianapolis, IN -- (Sports Network) - Joseph Addai rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown, adding 48 yards and a receiving score on four catches, as Indianapolis snuck past Houston, 33-27, at Lucas Oil Stadium. Peyton Manning completed 30-of-46 passes for 320 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Colts (6-4), who have won three games in a row. "There is no question we have said all along that is what we try to do," said Manning about the running game. "We stay committed to it during games, especially during practice. That is always what we try to be here is a balanced offense." Reggie Wayne added seven catches for 90 yards, and Marvin Harrison registered 77 yards and a score on nine receptions. Adam Vinatieri also chipped in by hitting on all four of his field-goal attempts. "Big win for us, a good one to get," said Colts head coach Tony Dungy. "This week it was our offense that saved us in the second half, with those long drives and touchdowns." Steve Slaton led all rushers with 156 yards on 14 carries, with a touchdown, for the Texans (3-7), who have dropped three straight games. Sage Rosenfels threw for 192 yards and a costly late interception on 13-of-18 passes, while Ahman Green added two rushing TDs in defeat. Only ahead by three late in regulation, the Colts got some breathing room via a 69-yard, 16-play drive which consumed more than seven minutes off the clock. Vinatieri's 31-yard field goal -- his fourth of the game -- with 1:52 remaining put the home team ahead 33-27. After converting a 2nd-and-12 from their own 34 on a 14-yard completion to David Anderson, Houston's final drive came to a halt as Melvin Bullitt stepped in front of a pass intended for Owen Daniels. "I really just made a bad throw," said Rosenfels. "I threw it behind him, you know we had a chance." Manning took a knee to run off the remaining seconds, and the Colts emerged with the win. Kris Brown's 28-yard field goal got Houston on the board on the game's opening drive, and Vinatieri countered with a 40-yarder on Indy's first possession. A 61-yard connection from Rosenfels to Kevin Walter set up Brown's 34-yard make for a 6-3 Texans lead, but a 39-yard boot by Vinatieri evened things early in the second quarter. Houston then forged ahead 13-6 with 2:51 left in the half on Green's one-yard run, but Vinatieri made a 32-yarder with five seconds left which brought the Colts to 13-9 at intermission. Addai's 23-yard catch-and-run on the Colts' first series of the second half gave the home team a 16-13 edge, but Slaton's 71-yard gallop three plays later put the Texans up by four. Addai added a seven-yard rushing score for a 23-20 Indianapolis lead on the ensuing series, and Harrison's 10-yard TD reception on the first play of the fourth made it 30-20 for the Colts. Green then fought into the end zone with 8:54 to play for a three-point contest, finishing a 10-play, 77-yard drive. "Well, the bottom line is we didn't stop them," Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said of his defense's inability to hold the Colts. "Felt like we did a pretty good job of that in the first half. We didn't do a good enough job. They started picking us apart."Game Notes:Indianapolis has won 13 of the 14 meetings since Houston entered the league in 2002...Colts safety Bob Sanders was inactive due to a knee injury...Green racked up just 17 yards on the ground on nine carries...The Colts head to San Diego next Sunday while the Texans are in Cleveland.
