Packers' Barnett To Miss Rest Of Season

POSTED: 3:24 pm EST November 10, 2008

(Sports Network) - Green Bay Packers middle linebacker Nick Barnett will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn knee ligament.

Barnett was hurt early in the third quarter of Sunday's game against Minnesota while trying to make a tackle on Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Barnett will need surgery.

Barnett had five tackles before leaving Sunday's contest and entered the game as the club's leader with 44 tackles.

The sixth-year pro out of Oregon State was Green Bay's leading tackler four times in his first five seasons.
