Canty Signs One-Year Tender With Dallas

(Sports Network) - Dallas Cowboys fourth-year defensive end Chris Canty agreed to sign a one-year restricted tender on Wednesday.

Canty, who had been looking for a long-term deal, inked a contract worth just over $2 million for 2008.

The 25-year-old Virginia product and native of the Bronx started in all 16 regular-season contests in 2007 for the Cowboys, recording 43 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks along with a blocked field goal.

Canty has started 34 of 48 games for Dallas over three seasons, tallying 112 tackles, seven sacks and one forced fumble.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said cornerback Adam Jones has been reinstated from his suspension by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, but the player must miss two more games before coming back Dec. 7 at Pittsburgh.
