Carolina Reaches Deal With WR D.J. Hackett

POSTED: 1:23 pm EDT March 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett on a two-year, $3.5 million contract, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Hackett, who spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, has battled injuries throughout his career. Last season he missed 10 games while compiling 32 catches for 384 yards and three touchdowns.

The signing bolsters the Panthers' receiving corps, as Hackett will likely battle for the No. 2 spot with the recently signed Muhsin Muhammad and second- year wide-out Dwayne Jarrett.
