CLEVELAND - Tree pollen is filling the air in northeast Ohio with misery. Allergy sufferers, we have three tips on dealing with the misery.
"The allergy season is starting a little bit earlier. We're seeing a lot of people coming in with different conditions," said Nature Care Pharmacy Dr. Bruce Greenberg. He has a couple tips to help you cope with allergies.
1. Bathe before heading to bed:
"After being out during the day, your hair can have the pollen in it. So it's good to take a shower or bath in the evening," said Dr. Greenberg.
2. Consider over-the-counter medications:
"There are eye drops now sold over-the-counter…and same thing with the antihistamines by mouth. There's nasal salines and things that you can do with that to flush the nasal passages rather than just take medications," Dr. Greenberg added.
3. If it's really bad outside, go indoors:
"With air conditioning and closing the windows, that definitely helps," Greenberg added.
