SILVERTON, Ohio - Interstate 71 near Cincinnati was closed for several hours after a fatal wrong-way crash early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened on northbound I-71 in Silverton when a vehicle drove the wrong way on the highway close to the Stewart Road exit at about 2:45 a.m, according to police.
The wrong-way driver was confirmed dead at the scene, according to officials. The driver of a second vehicle was transported to the hospital.
Police said a second crash happened at about 5:30 a.m. when a motorcyclist went around flares set up for the fatal accident. The driver suffered minor injuries.
Officers have not released the condition of the other drivers or any further details at this time.
