Werewolf cosplayer charged in Ohio runaway teen investigation

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - A man's unorthodox - but increasingly popular - hobby of role-playing in costume, called "cosplaying," is being examined after police said he ran away with a 14-year-old girl.

The question investigators are attempting to answer is whether the cosplay is a harmless hobby or a ploy to lure teenage girls.

Mark Edwards, 44, of Springfield, in Clark County, Ohio, is charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, interference with custody, fleeing and eluding and violating a protection order, the Springfield News-Sun reports.

A YouTube account associated with Edwards includes videos with images of him in costume pretending to eat animal carcasses, he and other people in costumes, and some images that appear to include young women.
