An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper is credited with saving the life of an infant who was involved in a fiery crash in central Ohio.

According to WCMH in Columbus, Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Sean Eitel was driving back to his post Tuesday night when he saw a car swerving and driving erratically.

When Eitel tried to pull over the driver, she kept going.

Dash cam video shows the driver swerving across the center line, running a stop sign and crashing into two utility poles before flipping and catching fire.

The trooper jumped out of the car to put out the fire and then heard the driver screaming: "Please help my son! Please help my son!"

Eitel wasn't sure whether the car would explode or catch back on fire. "I just wanted to get him out," he said.

He was able to save the four-month-old but the driver kept yelling: "Please help my son, where’s he at? Where’s my baby?"

Troopers say her breath smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred.

"I've done nothing wrong," she told Eitel. "Actually, you have," he said.
