Ohio state troopers seized an estimated $600,000 worth of cocaine in a traffic stop in Madison County on May 6 at around 9:37 a.m.

Carlos Baltazar allegedly followed too closely on Interstate 70, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

When troopers stopped Baltazar, 35, of Chicago near milepost 72, they reportedly observed criminal indicators.

Troopers called in a patrol drug-sniffing canine and found the contraband in a probable cause search, according to highway patrol.

The cocaine weighed more than 13 pounds, authorities said.

Baltazar was incarcerated in the Multi-County Jail and is charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
