COLUMBUS, Ohio - Tweeting isn't just for the birds. It's for the cows too.
The butter cow, which is an annual fixture at the Ohio State Fair, will be posting to Twitter and Facebook , starting Monday, the Ohio Dairy Farmers said.
The cow's hooves will be busy typing away about the state fair, dairy trivia and a contest to win an iPad. The life-size butter cow will also drop a few hints about the other butter sculptures that will be joining it when the Ohio State Fair begins on July 25.
Last year's special butter sculptures depicted a space shuttle and astronaut. Those works of dairy delight took 475 hours to make and used 1,550 pounds of butter or about 6,200 sticks. In 2010, Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas had his likeness made from butter.
The butter art brings in more than 500,000 visitors at the fair and will be displayed in the Dairy Products Building at the Ohio Expo Center.
The Ohio State Fair ends on Aug. 5.
