An Ohio mother told a judge she didn't want her son set free just before the 18-year-old was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a string of arsons.
The teen's mother says he first set a fire in April at her home in the western Ohio city of Van Wert.
She says after the fire the family moved into her grandparents' home where her son set two more fires.
The woman says she doesn't feel safe around her son and that he needs help. She says he has dealt with mental issues most of his life and was sexually abused at a young age.
The Associated Press generally doesn't name victims of sexual assault.
The Lima News (http://bit.ly/2hSn4hG ) reports the teen declined comment before being sentenced this past week.
