COLUMBUS, Ohio - An Ohio Christian University student was killed after a 60-foot fall in Hocking Hills State Park Saturday.
Josias Rodriguez, 19, was hiking with friends at Old Man's Cave when he left the marked trail and fell as he tried climbing back down a rock face, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources told the Columbus Dispatch.
Rodriguez is the sixth person to die from falling at Old Man's Cave since 2001, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
OCU in Circleville canceled semester finals Monday to hold a memorial service for Rodriguez.
The Columbus Dispatch also reports a 23-year-old Chillicothe-area woman is in serious condition after falling Saturday afternoon at Cantwell Cliffs. ODNR said the woman and her boyfriend left the hiking trail and she slipped, falling about 100 feet.
