An Ohio bill would let schools and camps keep a supply of asthma inhalers not prescribed to specific patients in case of emergencies.

The measure passed the state Senate on a unanimous vote Wednesday. The House also has passed the bill but would have to sign off on the Senate's technical changes before the legislation goes to the governor.

Schools or camps would have to adopt a policy to govern the use of the inhalers, including where the medication would be stored and who could administer it. Under the bill, a licensed school nurse or athletic trainer could access and use an inhaler.
