Man, 22, hospitalized following Cadillac versus tractor-trailer crash

FREMONT, Ohio - A 22-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday morning after crashing his Cadillac into a tractor-trailer.

The two vehicles collided on the Ohio Turnpike near milepost 88 in Sandusky County, at around 10:23 a.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Jacob Schwartz, 22, struck the back of Frank Payton's, 37, tractor-trailer.  Schwartz's car then went off the left side of the road, crashing into a median wall.

A medical helicopter responded to the scene and flew Schwartz to St. Vincent Hospital. His condition and extent of injuries were not released.

Payton was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
