Former Congressman Kerry Bentivolio is traveling to Washington D.C, but not to run for office.
Bentivolio is walking and biking 570-mile journey from Detroit to D.C. in an attempt to draw Congress' attention to the treatment of veterans and their families.
"People said, 'Wait, you know that's crazy you're going to go across country for that' and I said, 'Yeah, you know what's really crazy is you let 300,000 of our Veterans die waiting for health care,'" Bentivolio exclaimed. "Wake up, America!"
Along the way, Bentivolio plans to visit various VFWs and American Legion Posts.
