A now 20-year-old woman who went missing from her North Carolina high school in 2011 may be in Ohio.

According to the Charlotte Division of the FBI and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Rachel Natacha Owens was last seen getting into a car outside of her school on May 5, 2011.

She rode the bus to school in Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C., got off the bus and was seen on surveillance video getting into a small, dark-colored car with a possible South Carolina license plate.

As recently as 2014, the FBI received information that Owens might by in Columbus. Special agents are now expanding the search to the entire state of Ohio.

A $5,000 reward for information that leads to the recovery of Owens and the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her disappearance.

She is now 20 years old and may go by “Raquel” or “Rakel”. Owens has pierced ears and is known to frequently change her hair color. She is about 5-foot 5-inches tall, weighs 115-120 pounds and has hazel eyes.

Authorities say Owens had run away in the past and expressed desire to go to Mexico.  She has not had contact with any family members or friends since the day she left her high school.

The FBI is using social media and billboards in North Carolina and Ohio to publicize her disappearance. New missing posters in both English and Spanish will be featured on the FBI’s website.

Owens may be with a man of Hispanic descent, who is much older than she is and who possibly works in the construction business.

Anyone with information on Rachel’s whereabouts should call 1-800-CALLFBI or the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at 910-253-2777.
