PERRYSBURG, Ohio - Marijuana plants and an electric meter were thrown from a car leading to a Columbus man's arrest on Interstate 475 in northwest Ohio.
A driver acting suspiciously and trying to evade troopers and police was stopped after witnesses observed someone in the car throw a large trash bag out of the window, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.
They said they found the bag along the highway with 25 marijuana plants and an electric meter used to cultivate pot.
The driver, Craig Sheppard, 26, admitted to owning the materials, telling troopers he bought the marijuana in Michigan and was on his way to Columbus.
He was charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking in marijuana and possession of criminal tools and is in Wood County Jail. Sheppard faces as many as 10 years of prison time and a fine that could total as much as $15,000.
